A triple offset butterfly valve is designed based on the structure of a double offset butterfly valve. Clearly, there are three offsets in a triple offset butterfly valve. Two are positioned in similar positions because the double offset butterfly valve. Whereas the third offset is geometrically aligned on the seating floor, creating a cone shape kind of the seat and disc. This coney angle, along with the 2 eccentric offsets, permits the disc to seal alongside the seat with no friction involved.

Gas mileage was deemed comparable to a Cutlass with 4-barrel carburetion, though “under onerous driving the consumption is bound to rise.” At cruising speeds, Automotive and Driver suggested, “fuel economy could also be higher, due to the improved fuel atomization and mixture distribution with the whirling impeller.” Premium gas was recommended.
One characteristic of ball valves is their exponential stream rate, which signifies that the quantity of media flowing by means of the valve increases or decreases at an exponential rate when the valve is opened or closed.
